Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is a neighborhood? We define a neighborhood as a small town or a community, often within a large metropolitan area. Not a subdivision, but a community with a "heart & soul". A neighborhood is a place that has an identity, its own merchants, schools, churches, clubs and organizations. It is a place that people proudly call home. Is sponsorship of each neighborhood exclusive? Yes. We offer the exclusive rights within a geographic area to a single real estate sponsor. Can a neighborhood have more than one sponsor? Our agreements are with individuals. We know many agents work as a team and can accommodate most requests. Can our office sponsor a site? Again, that is up to our sponsor. Some brokers sponsor sites for their agents. The majority of our sponsors are individual agents. How big an area can I cover with a neighborhood site? The real question is how large is the community. Large geographic areas that are not true communities do not work well. Most agents or teams can adequately handle a community of 5,000 - 10,000 homes. How long does it take to get started? The process gets started almost immediately. While we are building the site, we provide you training and marketing materials. The site itself goes live in approximately 30 days after the agreement. How much work is involved to keep the site running? The administration of the site is a few minutes a day. How do I make the most of my sponsorship and how much work is involved? The two major elements to success are community involvement and neighborhood presence. The key to success is not working more, it is working smarter. It is doing the things that you are doing or should be doing now. How do I market the neighborhood website? Most of the marketing we recommend is low cost and highly effective. Our grass roots marketing plan uses promotions, public relations, and inexpensive signage to stay in front of the community. Who owns the domain name? We do. In order for us to manage and guarantee the site, we need to be the registrar for the domain name. Can I use my own photos? Yes. We encourage it. Community photos presonalize the site and add warmth. We suggest you use photos that are recognizable to residents of your community's shopping district and landmarks for the front section, and a nice streetscape and a variety of homes for the real estate section. How much does this program cost, and what is included in the fee? For detailed information, click here. Can I choose a different style? Yes, we currently have three page designs from which to choose. How much bandwidth and hard drive space is included? There is no limit to the usage of the site. Our dedicated servers are closely monitored 24 hours a day and load balanced. Can I add additional content? Yes. You can add unlimited pages and categories if you choose. You will find that the sites are already packed with useful and pertinent information, and there is little need to add anything. However, if you choose to, adding pages is quick and easy. How long is the contract for and can I renew it? Our yearly agreement is automatically renewable. The cost is guaranteed never to increase, no matter how successful the community site becomes. Can I sponsor multiple communities? Unless you are a broker or have a large team, we actively discourage REALTORS from sponsoring more than one community. If done correctly, sponsorship of one community will provide more than enough business for you to handle. Our program works best for REALTORS who specialize in a single community, neighborhood or town. How can I stop objectionable material from posting on the site? You review everything before it is posted on the site. Though our simple interface, you can publish, edit or delete anything that is submitted. How many listings can I place on the site? You can post as many listings as you wish. Each listing can list a tremendous amount of information, as well as a visual tour and up to 9 photos. You may prefer to display a combination of both listed and sold properties. We recommend that any properties posted are in the neighborhood. Buyers and potential sellers want to know about properties in the community, not across town, and that will make the site more valuable to you. Can I post someone else's listings? Yes, in fact it is one of the strategies we'll show you to generate more buyer leads. We recommend you post other agent's listings from your office that are within the community you are sponsoring. However, you should get permission from the listing agent first. The great thing about this feature is that if you don't have many listings or you are a buyer's agent, you can still post information of value to the buyers for your neighborhood. That makes you valuable to them. |
